ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Threat Level Midnight?
horrible, horrible, horrible. Bodhi would NOT approve.
ReplyDeleteI must admit, I liked Point Break - that's Kathryn Bigelow, yes? I think I have a soft spot for her work. Plus, when they raid the house and the naked chick jumps on Gary Busey - that's just something you don't see every day.
ReplyDeleteWhat an imaginative title for the "point-break-sequel". It's not even a real sequel, since it just has the Bodhi character mentioned.
ReplyDeleteI loved Point Break and spoke to Peter Iliff when I saw him at Scriptwriters Showcase last month.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I told him how much I like it, and asked how he felt about the way The Fast and The Furious pretty much just ripped off his entire storyline. He was very gracious, and said that the writer or director (I forget which) called him to thank him and I guess apologize. He said he viewed it as an homage of sorts. I accepted, though I still find it cheap!
Then I asked him about the Point Break sequel, and he told me a little about it. I'll reserve comment until it comes out, and will hope it turns out to be a really good movie. But I will say that the subject matter he mentioned related somewhat to another screenplay idea I had, and could affect my desire whether to go ahead with it or not. Though the truth is, that would be a script I'd write far in the future anyway!
