The milkshake brings all the Oscars to the yard

I'm happy for Diablo Cody. I think now she can probably afford a dress that doesn't make her look like a stripper. But really, that was pretty cool. She's a true representation of the American dream.

Now in honor of last night's no-surprise-at-all win by Daniel Day Lewis, I give you this reenactment of the now famous Milkshake scene, created by a man who goes by the name of Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener:

  3. By the way, seeing THERE WILL BE BLOOD made me wonder when milkshakes were invented, and when they became common enough to use as an analogy in conversation about oil... and I don't remember when the milkshake scene takes place, but milkshakes didn't really catch on until the 1930s. The freezer and the blender being the two big inventions that paved the way for milkshakes. Before that, there was actually something called a milkshake... that was a mixed drink (you know, booze). But any guy with an in-home bowling alley probably also had a blender...
